Admission Frequently Asked Questions
For all undergraduate (UG) programmes, you need to have passed 10+2 (HSC) from a recognised board with a minimum of 45% marks. B.Sc. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and B.Sc. Computer Science require 50% with the relevant science subjects. B.C.A. requires Mathematics or Computer Science at HSC level.
No, Sudharsan College does not conduct a separate entrance examination for most programmes. Admission is merit-based on 10+2 or UG percentage. A merit list is published on the notice board and the college website. Eligible candidates are called for counseling and document verification.
You will need: 10th and 12th marksheets and certificates, Transfer Certificate, Community Certificate (if applicable), Income Certificate (for scholarship), 4 passport-size photographs, Aadhaar Card, Character Certificate from last institution, and a Migration Certificate if from a board outside Tamil Nadu. Bring originals and 2 self-attested copies of each.
UG programme fees range from approximately ₹9000 to ₹12,000 for the full three-year course. This includes admission fee, tuition fee, and examination fee. Fees can be paid in yearly instalments. Yes. Tamil Nadu Government post-matric scholarships are available for SC/ST/BC/MBC/EWS students through the e-Kalvi portal. First-generation college learners may also qualify for central scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal. The college also offers a merit scholarship for students who secure university ranks.
Yes. All programmes at Sudharsan Arts and Science College are affiliated with Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, which is a recognised State University under the UGC Act. Degrees awarded are valid for government recruitment, higher studies, and professional examinations across India.
B.Com is a standard commerce programme covering accounting, taxation, auditing, and business law. B.Com C.A. (Computer Applications) adds a programming and software component — including C, Python, DBMS, and web technologies — alongside the core commerce curriculum. B.Com C.A. is ideal for students who want to work in IT-enabled finance or accounting software roles.
The medium of instruction is English for all programmes. Tamil medium is available for B.A. Tamil Literature, and B.A. English has Tamil as a mandatory second language subject in the first two years. Practical and project work is conducted in English.
Yes. Our graduates regularly qualify for TNPSC Group exams, Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB), banking exams (IBPS, SBI), and central government posts. The college provides coaching classes and study materials for competitive examinations. Bharathidasan University degrees are accepted for all state and central government recruitments.
